Dear Patients, Residents, Family and Staff:
We are glad to inform you that most everyone who has experienced Covid due to this event has now gradated! We now have one Resident from Assisted Living who is slated to graduate on the 24th, and two other Residents from the Long Term Care side who’ll be graduating on the 21st and 27th. More good news; as of today, Assisted Living, Willow 1, Willow 2, and Maple 1 are Covid free for now. And more good news; another scheduled Covid testing to place today for those Residents and Patients who have not tested positive for Covid thus far, and we are happy to report that No tests were noted to be positive! And more good news… No Staff Members tested positive for Covid today either! We want to thank all our Team Members for working so hard on behalf of our Residents and Patients; we couldn’t be more grateful and proud of all your efforts and sacrifice.
The facility will continue to collaborate with the Department of Health to discuss further Covid testing in order to deem this Covid event resolved. More information will be disseminated as we continue to progress through, what we can assume, is the last part of this event. From back-tracing this Covid event on 12/31/2021, we can assume the initial event generated from a Family Member who passed it on to the Resident and exposed other people as well. We thank the Family Member for being transparent with the facility by letting the facility know of their Covid Status. It was then that we tested the Resident in question who actually tested positive. The Clinical Team then tested all the Residents; the majority who tested positive were in the immediate vicinity of the initial Resident. We can also assume that there were other factors that contributed to this event. And what needs to be emphasized are core principles that we’ve learned since this Pandemic started; infection control precautions, such as hand hygiene, social distancing, and proper mask wearing at all times.
Please also consider that we are still running Contingent Staffing due to the number of Staff Members who are out for illnesses. We ask for grace, understanding, and patience for All our Team Members who are currently fighting the good fight on behalf of your loved ones with all they’ve got and then some.
As a reminder, All Healthcare Workers are to be Fully Vaccinated by February the 13th. If you are unsure if you have been registered in the system as fully vaccinated, it is your responsibility to check with Nik in HR to ensure you have reached compliance. You can also just toss a copy of your Vaccination Card underneath HR’s door.
Please keep in mind the Federal Mandate Requires Complete Vaccination for all Healthcare professionals, or a fully executed exemption form; and Work Is Contingent Upon Compliance with this Mandate by Sunday, February 13th.
We appreciate everyone’s collaboration, compliance, and discipline with all guidelines at this time; we will get through this together… and we are getting through this!
At your service,
The Leadership Team at Shawnee PARC
