Re: COVID-19 Updates
Dear Residents, Family and Friends:
We are happy to let you know that we still do not have any confirmed cases of Covid-19. Our Shawnee PARC Family is doing everything in our power to keep you or your loved one and our employees safe and healthy.
As previously stated, we are committed to informing you as things develop with this world pandemic and how those things affect Shawnee PARC, it’s Residents and Staff. We would like to notify you that we currently have three employees with Covid-like symptoms (who all were non-care givers). They have been quarantined from the building for precautionary reasons per Johnsons County Health Department guidelines. We are currently awaiting for their Covid test results and will inform you once we know along with any further action/intervention needed per guidelines.
Our Infection Control Specialist is being proactive by having the staff members tested and we hope to get the results back soon. Due to the high volume of tests being taken in the community, we are uncertain when these results will come in, but we will keep you informed once they are available. Though these specific employees were not providing direct care for the Residents, we are taking precautionary measures at this time by temporarily halting group activities and encouraging Residents to stay in their rooms as much as possible.
Rest assured, the employees of interest will remain in quarantine until they have been cleared to return by the Infection Control Specialist who is following the recommended guidelines from CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services) and the CDC (Center for Disease Control).
