COVID-19 Update 12.30.21
/in COVID-19 VIRUS NEWSOn behalf of Shawnee PARC, we wish all of you Happy Holidays! We would like to thank you for your diligence in promoting safety practices throughout this Pandemic and your continued discipline with mask wearing, social distancing, and hand washing. We cannot overstate the importance of following these guidelines as we are beginning to experience yet another wave of Covid. This type of Covid is easier to catch then the previous strands. And we continue to encourage safety first when it comes to community events, dining, visitations, etc.
We would like to inform you that, with cases on the rise, we also have two Staff Members who have tested positive for Covid, and four other Staff Members whom we are currently waiting for results. We are also awaiting results for one of our Residents who is currently symptom free, but had exposure by a family member. The family member was responsible enough to let us know right away; and that’s truly the expectation. We are grateful for transparency in these matters.
COVID-19 Update 8.14.21
/in COVID-19 VIRUS NEWSWe would like to inform you that we had two Staff Members on Second Floor test positive for Covid. Though experiencing mild symptoms, the Charge Nurse was well versed in Covid symptomology and was able to self-identify that he needed to distance himself from the building. A CNA also tested positive for Covid without symptoms and is feeling well at this time; the facility will collaborate with the lab to do a PCR to verify the rapid test result. The Charge Nurse was encouraged to self-quarantine in his home for a minimum of 10 days and could then return after being symptom free for 72 hours per CDC guidelines. The CNA has also been encouraged to self-quarantine pending the final PCR lab result.
COVID-19 Update 8.06.21
/in COVID-19 VIRUS NEWSIt’s been unfortunate to see that Covid Cases in our County have been consistently rising. We have increased Staff Covid testing as required by the Department of Health. We would also like to inform you that Shawnee PARC has been given permission by the Johnson County Department of Health to re-open its Covid Unit on Wednesday the 11th. This Unit will give us the opportunity to care for Patients that currently need sub-acute care. We encourage everyone to remain diligent with the safety practices that are being put in place to help keep our Residents, Patients, Family Members, Staff and Community as Covid Free as possible.
