Re: COVID-19 Updates
Dear Residents, Family and Friends;
We are happy to report that Shawnee PARC has not had a single confirmed Covid-19 case by any of our Residents or Patients since the beginning of this pandemic. Our tightknit community has been diligent in developing and implementing safety interventions that have been contributing factors to keeping our Residents and Patients safe.
As previously reported, we’ve been working with KDHE and the JoCo Health Department on focused Covid-19 testing for Residents and Staff by sections of the facility to validate our Covid free status. We have completed all testing and we are happy to report that all our Residents and Patients are Covid negative. It was certainly a lot of work and effort to complete all the testing and we appreciate all the staff involved with this process and their willingness to participate. We deeply appreciate and praise our Team; their diligence and discipline have certainly contributed to our Residents and Patients being Covid negative.
Our Residents are still encouraged to stay in their rooms as much as possible. However, our Activities Department is still doing creative things that bring love and life to our Residents and Patients each and every day; we are looking forward to a Fruit Smoothie Luau this Wednesday coming up for all our Residents, Patients, and Staff on all three floors. We are still encouraging all our Family Members and Friends to schedule virtual meeting with Winnie Banda, Activities Director. Your interaction with your loved ones is more important now more than ever; please take time to spend with them.
Our local ombudsman, Theresa Gordon, has asked that we provide her phone number as an additional resource 913-226-8068. We are ardently working on staying ahead of this virus as much as we can. We thank you for your continuous support, diligence, and grace. We encourage you, as we do all our Staff, to please stay safe, wear your mask when you’re outside your home, social distance, and use proper hand hygiene. Please do not hesitate to reach out with questions, concerns or requests for assistance.
At your service,
The Leadership Team at Shawnee PARC
