Dear Residents, Family and Friends:
We are excited to inform you that Shawnee PARC has received a Deficiency Free report from the Infection Control Survey performed by the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services (KDADS)! There were no areas of concern or suggestions of improvement noted by the surveyor and we were commended for diligently following the guidelines and standards by CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services), CDC (Center for Disease Control), Kansas Department of Health, and the Johnson County Department of Health. Additionally, we still have not had any confirmed cases of Covid-19 and continue to follow the highest standard of infection control practices.
Last week, we informed you that we have submitted a proposed plan for re-opening to the Johnson County Health Department and yesterday we received notification from them that they have suspended reviewing all re-opening plans for senior living facilities due to the rise in the number of Covid-19 cases in Johnson County and the re-instated precaution recommendation not to allow non-essential visitors into facilities. This is certainly not the news we were all hoping for, but due to the severity of Covid-19, we absolutely want to follow the suggested standards provided to keep our residents and staff safe and healthy. These uncertain times have been difficult and we thank you all for your patience, understanding and support.

If you plan a porch or window visit, please remember to wear a mask and practice social distancing to keep your loved ones, the residents and staff safe and healthy.
